Description

The Programa Retorn is an assistance and health service offered by the Col·legi Oficial d’Infermeres i Infermers de Barcelona and aimed at collegiate nurses with mental and/or addiction problems.

From this service, the affected people are offered help to overcome their illness and the work-related problems that come with it, with the objective of their rehabilitation and reinsertion in the working life. We protect the users from the harmful effects derived from this problem and guarantee their right to a quality health assistance, from a technical and human point of view, on the part of the nurses, while ensuring the strict compliance of the ethical rules of the nursing profession. Controlling these illnesses is necessary to guarantee their enforcement.

Nurses, like the rest of the population, can suffer from mental problems and/or addiction to alcohol or other drugs throughout their working life. Quite often, the affected people are not aware of their problem or find it difficult to ask for a treatment. Sometimes they do not know where to ask for help because they fear the violation of their privacy or labor reprisals. Continuing to work as nurses without turning to specialized help may easily entail the rise of problems in other areas, such as the personal or work-related ones.

The Col·legi Oficial d’Infermeres i Infermers de Barcelona, being aware of the problem and with the objective of providing the population with the best professional standards, has been offering the Programa Retorn since the year 2000, which is a specialized support service with the highest guarantee of privacy preservation.

The consolidation of the program allows us to continue to look out for the specific needs of our collective and offer an assistance service that is effective, efficient, adapted and highly specialized. The intervention of the Col·legi Oficial d’Infermeres i Infermers de Barcelona ensures the specialization in the treatment of the cases, the preservation of the code of conduct of this profession and the coordination of the assistance, legal, working and personal resources.

The program can be accessed through the personal request of a nurse, through the suggestion of relatives, colleagues or the person accountable for the affected person at work, and also through the request of the family.

The documentation below is only available in Catalan.
